Warts
WHAT ARE WARTS?
Warts are a common skin condition caused by a viral infection. They can appear on any part of the body and can be unsightly and uncomfortable. Common warts occur most often in children and young people, often on the hands. Fortunately, there are several treatment options available to help get rid of warts. There are several treatments for warts including medication, cryotherapy (freezing), and laser treatments.
WHAT TREATMENTS ARE OFFERED AT SELF TO TREAT WARTS?
At Self we offer laser treatments to help deal with warts. Laser removal is a popular and effective treatment option.
IS LASER REMOVAL OF WARTS SAFE?
Yes! The treatments are performed on-site, in our clinic by a physician.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
The length of the procedure depends on the size and location of the wart. After the procedure, a dressing will be applied to the treated area, and you will be given instructions on how to care for the wound and prevent infection.

Skin Tags
What are Skin Tags?
Skin tags are small, benign growths that typically occur in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing, such as the neck, armpits, and groin. They are made up of collagen fibers and blood vessels and can vary in size from a tiny speck to several centimeters in diameter.
How does a laser treatment of skin tags work?
Laser removal of skin tags involves using a focused beam of light to target the base of the skin tag, removing the skin tag. This process is quick and relatively painless, with most patients experiencing only mild discomfort during the procedure. Laser removal is considered a safe and effective option for removing skin tags.
Aftercare
After laser removal of skin tags, it’s important to take proper care of the treated area to ensure proper healing and minimize the risk of infection. We provide specific aftercare instructions along with specialized ointment to facilitate healing. Some general tips include keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding tight clothing that may rub against the treated area, and avoiding activities that may cause excessive sweating or irritation. It’s also important to avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least a few weeks after the procedure.
